Trip Overview
Nathdwara (Gateway to the Lord) is not just a temple town; it is the home of Shrinathji, the 7-year-old infant form of Lord Krishna. Legend says the chariot carrying the idol from Mathura (to save it from Aurangzeb) got stuck here in the 17th century, signaling that the Lord wanted to stay.
On this tour, you will drive north from Udaipur to this vibrant town painted with murals. You will navigate the narrow, bustling lanes filled with the smell of mint tea and fresh sweets. The climax is the Darshan—a fleeting, intense moment where the curtain opens to reveal the black marble idol raising his left hand to lift Govardhan Hill. We also visit the colossal Statue of Belief (Vishwas Swaroopam), the tallest Shiva statue in the world.
Trip Highlights
What makes this day trip unforgettable.

What is the best time for Darshan?
Mangla (5:30 AM) is considered the holiest (first waking up of the Lord), but requires a very early start from Udaipur (4:30 AM). Rajbhog (11:30 AM) is the most elaborate but also the most crowded.
Can we buy Prasad?
Yes, the temple counters sell Thor (a sweet crusty pastry) and Ladoo. It is considered very auspicious to take this home.
Is the Shiva Statue open every day?
Yes, the Statue of Belief is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Partially. The Shiva Statue is fully accessible with elevators. However, the main Shrinathji temple is in narrow lanes with crowds and steps, making it very difficult for wheelchairs.
Why is the town painted with murals?
Nathdwara is a town of artists. You will see walls painted with elephants, cows, and Krishna on almost every street corner, celebrating the presence of the Lord.
