Trip Overview

Mehndipur Balaji is unlike any other temple in the world. Located in the Dausa district, it is dedicated to the child form of Lord Hanuman. It is famous across India as the only place where “evil spirits,” “black magic,” and “ghosts” are driven away by divine power.

The atmosphere here is raw, intense, and sometimes overwhelming. You will see people swaying, screaming, or rolling on the floor as they undergo “Peshi” (spiritual treatment). It is not a place for sightseeing; it is a hospital for the soul. On this tour, you will visit the Three Deities who form the spiritual court: Balaji Maharaj (The Judge), Pretraj Sarkar (The King of Spirits), and Bhairav Kotwal (The Commander).

Trip Highlights

What makes this day trip unforgettable.

  • The Divine Court: Bow before Balaji Maharaj. It is said that his idol is “Swayambhu” (self-manifested) from the Aravalli rock and has a small hole in the chest from which water flows continuously.

  • Pretraj Sarkar: Visit the shrine of the King of Spirits, who punishes evil entities.

  • Bhairav Ji: Pay respects to the Commander of the Army of God, who ensures protection for all devotees.

  • The Rituals: Witness the unique offering of “Darkhast” (Application) and “Arzi” (Petition) – huge ladoos and rice balls that are circled around the head and thrown into the fire, symbolizing the burning of bad karma.

Timeline & Itinerary

08:00 AM: The Highway Drive

Your private chauffeur arrives at your hotel in Jaipur. We head east on the Agra Highway (NH-21). The drive is smooth and scenic, passing through the Aravalli hills and the lush fields of Bassi. As you get closer to Dausa, the number of saffron flags on the road increases.

10:00 AM: Arrival at the Dham

We arrive at Mehndipur. The town is buzzing with pilgrims carrying Ladoos and Urad Dal. The air is thick with the smell of heavy incense (Lobhan) and marigold flowers.

10:30 AM: The Darkhast (Application)

Before entering, you buy your “Prasad” trays. First, we make the offering of Darkhast to Balaji. This is your “application” to the Divine Court. You will hear the loud chants of “Jai Baba Ki” echoing through the halls.

11:00 AM: Darshan of the Trinity

Enter the main temple. It is a narrow path. You will first see Balaji, then Pretraj Sarkar, and finally Bhairav Ji. Do not be alarmed if you see people behaving strangely around you; they are in a trance. Just focus on the idol and keep moving. The energy here is undeniable.

12:00 PM: Exit & Rules

We exit the temple. Crucial Rule: You strictly cannot look back at the temple once you leave. You cannot eat the Prasad. You cannot take any food or water from here back to your home. We wash our hands and leave the town immediately.

12:30 PM: Lunch on Highway

We drive about 10-15 km away from Mehndipur to a clean highway midway (like Midway Mahwa). Here, you can relax and have a fresh vegetarian lunch. (Lunch is Direct Payment).

01:30 PM: The Return Drive

We begin the drive back to Jaipur. The car ride feels peaceful after the intensity of the temple.

03:30 PM: Doorstep Drop-off

We arrive back in Jaipur. We drop you right at your hotel, safe and blessed.

Is This Trip Perfect For You?

  • Strong Believers: If you have deep faith in Hanuman Ji and want protection.

  • Curious Souls: If you want to see a side of Indian spirituality that defies logic and science.

  • Brave Hearts: You must be mentally strong. The sights of people in trance can be disturbing for sensitive people or young children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it scary?

For a first-time visitor, yes, it can be intense. You will see people shouting, crying, or rolling on the floor. However, if you focus on your own prayer, it is very safe.

What is "Darkhast"?

It is a specific tray of Prasad (Ladoos, Batashas, Rice) that acts as your "entry pass" or application to the deities. You must offer this first before making any specific requests.

Can we combine this with Chand Baori (Abhaneri)?

Yes. The famous Abhaneri Stepwell is just 15 km from Balaji. It is a stunning architectural site and makes for a great calm stop after the intense temple visit.

Can we take small children?

We generally do not recommend taking very small children (under 10) unless necessary, as the crowd and the atmosphere can be frightening for them.

Is the road safe?

Yes, the Jaipur-Agra Highway is one of the best and safest roads in Rajasthan.

Why can't we bring Prasad home?

The belief is that the "evil spirits" or negative energies are transferred into the Prasad/food at the temple. Bringing it home means bringing those energies with you. It is a rule followed strictly by millions.
