Trip Overview
Ramdevra (Runicha) is the most powerful spiritual center in Western Rajasthan. It is the final resting place of Baba Ramdevji, a 14th-century warrior-saint who is worshipped by Hindus as an incarnation of Krishna and by Muslims as a great Sufi Saint.
On this tour, you will drive east from the Golden Fort into the open desert. You will follow the trail of the Padayatris (foot pilgrims) who walk hundreds of miles carrying multi-colored flags (Neja). The destination is a temple that feels less like a building and more like a fortress of faith. Here, miracles (Parchas) are the currency, and the simple offering of a toy horse is believed to make wishes come true.
Trip Highlights
What makes this day trip unforgettable.
✅ The Living Samadhi: Bow at the main tomb where the Saint took Samadhi (conscious exit) in 1459 AD. The energy inside the sanctum is electric.
✅ The Cloth Horse: Witness the unique tradition of offering Green and White Cloth Horses. You will see thousands of them piled up—a symbol of the horse Baba rode to help the poor.
✅ Parcha Bawdi: Visit the miraculous stepwell. Legend says Baba Ramdevji dug it with his spear to quench the thirst of the villagers. The water is believed to cure skin diseases.
✅ Ramsagar Lake: Sit by the holy lake constructed by the Saint himself. It is a spot of cool serenity in the scorching desert.
✅ The Five Pirs: Visit the Panch Pipli spot, where five holy men from Mecca came to test Baba’s powers and ended up bowing to him, giving him the name “Ramsa Pir.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we do this on the way to Jodhpur?
Yes! Ramdevra is exactly on the route from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Plan: Jaisalmer -> Ramdevra (Darshan) -> Jodhpur Drop. This is the smartest way to travel.
Is it crowded?
On normal days, Darshan takes 30-45 minutes. On Purnima (Full Moon) and Dooj (2nd day of the lunar month), it can take 2-3 hours.
Is it clean?
It is a crowded pilgrimage town, so expect dust, flies, and crowds. It is not a manicured tourist monument; it is a raw, living temple.
Why do people offer horses?
Baba Ramdevji loved horses. Legend says he turned a tailor's cloth horse into a real flying horse. Offering a toy horse symbolizes asking him to carry your burdens.
Is there a VIP Ticket?
Sometimes, there is a specialized "Sugam Darshan" line for seniors/families for a small donation, but it depends on the temple trust's rules on that specific day.
Can we take photos inside?
Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum (Garbh Griha). You can take photos outside near the lake and stepwell.
