Your private chauffeur arrives at your hotel in Jodhpur. We head north towards the Phalodi Highway. The rocky landscape of Jodhpur slowly changes. The trees get shorter, the sand gets deeper, and you might spot peacocks crossing the road.

03:30 PM: Arrival in Osian

We arrive at the ancient town. The skyline is dotted with temple spires (Shikhars). We start at the Sun Temple. Run your hands over the 1,000-year-old sandstone. It is warm and weathered by centuries of wind.

04:30 PM: Sachiya Mata Climb

We walk through the market to the Sachiya Mata Temple. It involves a small climb. As you ascend, the bells ring louder. Inside, the energy is potent. This is the Kuldevi (Family Goddess) of the Oswal Jain community, and you can feel the devotion in the air.

05:30 PM: The Camel Ride

Now, for the adventure. We drive to the dune point. Meet your camel and its handler. Climb up (it’s higher than you think!). The camel walks with a rhythmic sway deep into the dunes where cars cannot go.

06:15 PM: Sunset on the Dunes

We find a high dune and stop. Sit on the cool sand. Watch the sun dip below the horizon. The desert turns silent. It is a moment of pure peace away from the city noise.

07:00 PM: The Return Drive

With sand in your shoes and memories in your heart, we drive back to Jodhpur.

Is Osian as good as Jaisalmer?

Honest Answer: Jaisalmer has huge, endless dunes (Sam Sand Dunes). Osian has smaller, isolated dunes. However, Osian is much closer (1.5 hrs vs 5 hrs). If you want massive dunes, go to Jaisalmer. If you want a quick desert feel, Osian is perfect.

Is it safe for solo female travelers?

Yes. The camel handlers and locals are used to tourists. Your driver will stay with you until the dune point.

What should we wear?

Wear comfortable walking shoes (for the temple climb) and sandals (for the sand). In winter evenings, carry a light jacket as the desert gets cold quickly after sunset.

Are there erotic sculptures?
