Trip Overview
Mount Abu is a green paradise sitting on top of the dry Aravalli mountains. It is the only hill station in Rajasthan, famous for its cool weather and the legendary Dilwara Jain Temples. While the Taj Mahal is famous for its symmetry, Dilwara is famous for its intricate detail—it is said that the marble here was scraped with fingernails to create the delicate designs.
On this tour, you will enjoy a scenic drive through the tunnels of the National Highway before climbing the winding road to the hill station. You will touch the sky at Guru Shikhar (the highest peak in Rajasthan), boat on the legendary Nakki Lake, and walk on the cool marble floors of Dilwara. It is a long day, but the change in landscape and weather makes it worth every mile.
Trip Highlights
What makes this day trip unforgettable.
✅ Dilwara Temples: Visit the world-famous Jain temples (Vimal Vasahi & Luna Vasahi). The ceiling carvings are so fine they look like transparent lace, not stone.
✅ Nakki Lake: Take a boat ride on this artificial lake, which legend says was dug out by the Gods using their fingernails (Nakh).
✅ Guru Shikhar: Drive to the highest point of the Aravalli Range (1,722 meters). Ring the giant bell at the Dattatreya Temple and see the 360-degree view.
✅ Toad Rock: See the massive rock formation that looks exactly like a toad about to jump into the lake.
✅ Scenic Drive: The 22 km uphill drive from Abu Road to Mount Abu offers breathtaking views of the plains below.
