Trip Overview

Kaila Devi is not just a temple; it is the heart of the Karauli district. Located in the Trikut hills on the banks of the Kalisil River, this temple is dedicated to the Tutelary Deity (Kuldevi) of the Yaduvanshi Rajputs (the lineage of Lord Krishna). The atmosphere here is electric. You will hear devotees singing the famous “Languriya” folk songs, dancing with red flags in their hands. The idol of the Goddess is unique—her neck is slightly bent, looking towards her devotees with intense love. On this day trip, you will leave the city far behind and enter a world of pure, raw devotion.

Trip Highlights

What makes this day trip unforgettable.

  • The Unique Idol: Bow before the mesmerizing idol of Maa Kaila Devi. Notice the slight tilt in her neck—legend says she turned to look at a true devotee and remained that way forever.

  • Languriya Songs: Witness the vibrant culture of devotees singing and dancing to “Languriya” songs in the temple courtyard. The energy is contagious.

  • Kalisil River: Sit by the sacred Kalisil River flowing near the temple. Devotees often take a holy dip here before Darshan.

  • Bhairon Mandir: Visit the temple of Bhairon Ji in the courtyard, without whom the pilgrimage is considered incomplete.

  • The Red Flags: See the skyline dominated by thousands of red flags (Dhajas) carried by pilgrims walking from miles away.

Timeline & Itinerary

07:00 AM: The Pilgrim’s Start

Your private chauffeur arrives at your hotel in Jaipur. We head east on the Agra Highway (NH-21). The morning drive is scenic, passing through the Aravalli hills and the stone-mining town of Mahwa. Watch the mustard fields of rural Rajasthan flash by as we turn towards Hindaun City.

11:00 AM: Arrival at the Shakti Peeth

We arrive at the temple town of Kaila Devi. The air is thick with the smell of incense and camphor. We park the car and walk towards the main entrance. You will hear the beat of drums and the high-pitched singing of Languriya songs all around you.

11:30 AM: Darshan & Aarti

Enter the massive marble courtyard. Ring the heavy brass bells. Step into the sanctum (Garbha Griha). The Goddess sits there, radiant in red and gold. Offer your coconut and Chunri (scarf). Close your eyes and feel the powerful vibration of the Shakti Peeth.

01:00 PM: River & Bhairon Ji

Walk down to the Kalisil River banks. It is a peaceful spot to sit and reflect. On the way back up, pay your respects at the Bhairon Mandir facing the main temple.

02:00 PM: Lunch Break

The temple town has many simple Dhabas and Bhojanalayas. Enjoy a hot, fresh vegetarian meal of Dal Baati or Puri Sabzi. (Lunch is Direct Payment).

03:00 PM: The Return Drive

With the blessings of the Mother Goddess, we begin the drive back. The return journey is usually quiet as devotees rest after the emotional high of the Darshan.
