Why We Curated This Specific Route

Ajmer and Pushkar are twin cities located just 15km apart, yet they represent two completely different worlds. We designed this 3-day itinerary to let you experience the unique harmony of Rajasthan.

  • The “Twin” Spirituality: You visit Ajmer Sharif Dargah (one of Islam’s holiest shrines) and Pushkar Brahma Temple (one of Hinduism’s rarest temples) in one trip. It is a beautiful lesson in coexistence.

  • Slow Travel: Pushkar is a place to be, not just to see. Unlike day-trippers who rush, staying for 2 nights allows you to sit by the Sarovar (Lake) at sunset and soak in the hippie-meets-holy vibe of the town.

  • Rose Garden of Rajasthan: Pushkar is famous for its rose cultivation. We give you time to explore the markets filled with rose water, gulkand (rose jam), and perfumes.

The Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Jaipur to Pushkar | The Sufi Blessing

Your spiritual journey begins with a pickup from your hotel or airport in Jaipur. We drive towards Ajmer (approx. 2.5 hours). Upon reaching Ajmer, we visit the Dargah Sharif of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. It is believed that no prayer here goes unanswered. We also visit the Adhai Din Ka Jhopra, a historic mosque known for its stunning calligraphy and carved pillars.

From Ajmer, we drive up the winding Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain) to enter the holy town of Pushkar. Check into your hotel/resort. The evening is free to relax and feel the calm energy of the valley.

Day Highlights:

  • Scenic drive from Jaipur to Ajmer.

  • Seek blessings at Dargah Sharif (Ajmer).

  • Visit the architectural marvel Adhai Din Ka Jhopra.

  • Arrival in the holy town of Pushkar.

  • Overnight stay in Pushkar.

Day 02: The Sacred Lake | Full Day Pushkar Sightseeing

Wake up to the sound of temple bells. After breakfast, we explore the sacred town. We start with the Jagatpita Brahma Temple, the only major temple in the world dedicated to the Creator of the Universe.

Next, we walk around the Pushkar Sarovar (Lake). It is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats. Watch the pilgrims take a holy dip and the priests perform rituals. We then explore the vibrant, narrow market lanes of Pushkar. It is a shopper’s paradise for silver jewelry, bohemian clothes, and leather goods. You can spend the evening sitting by the ghats, listening to the drum circles or chants during the evening Aarti.

Day Highlights:

  • Darshan at the rare Brahma Temple.

  • Walk around the Holy Pushkar Lake (Parikrama).

  • Explore the 52 Ghats and Varaha Temple.

  • Shopping in the colorful Pushkar Bazaar.

  • Relaxing sunset by the lake.

Day 03: Farewell to the Holy City | Return to Jaipur

After a relaxed breakfast, soak in the morning sun one last time. We check out and begin our drive back to Jaipur (approx. 3 hours).

We drop you at the Jaipur airport, railway station, or your hotel/residence, leaving you with a sense of peace and spiritual fulfillment.

Day Highlights:

  • Relaxed morning breakfast.

  • Smooth drive back to Jaipur.

  • Assisted drop-off at Airport/Station.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we eat Non-Veg in Pushkar?

No. Pushkar is a "Holy City" by law. Serving or consuming meat and alcohol is strictly banned. However, you can find excellent vegetarian food, including Italian wood-fired pizzas and Israeli dishes in the market cafes.

Can we go to the Pushkar Camel Fair?

The famous Pushkar Cattle Fair happens once a year (usually November). During this time, the town is packed with 50,000 camels and tourists. Hotel prices trip during the fair. If you wish to visit during the fair, please book 3-4 months in advance.

How far is Pushkar from Jaipur?

It is about 145 km, which takes roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by road via the 6-lane highway (NH-48). It is a very smooth and comfortable drive.

How do we visit the Ajmer Dargah? Is it safe?

Yes, it is safe. However, the streets leading to the Dargah are extremely crowded and narrow. Our car will drop you at the nearest point, and you may need to walk or take an auto-rickshaw for the last 500 meters. Be careful of pickpockets in the crowd.

Is there a Camel Ride included?

This specific itinerary focuses on sightseeing. However, we can easily arrange a Camel Ride or Camel Cart Ride at the Pushkar Fairgrounds (sand dunes) at sunset. Just let us know!

What is the Savitri Temple?

It is a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma's first wife, located on top of a high hill overlooking the lake. You can take a Ropeway (Cable Car) to reach the top for the best panoramic view of Pushkar. We can add this to Day 2 if you are interested.
