Why Book a Day Trip with Us?

The desert is beautiful, but it can be harsh. Distances are long, and the heat can be intense. At Heritage Rajasthan Tours, we provide more than just a taxi. We provide a sanctuary from the sun. Our cars are premium and cool, and our drivers are masters of the desert roads. We handle the permits and timing so you can safely enjoy the "Wild West" of Rajasthan.

100% Private & Flexible

No shared jeeps, no crowded buses. You get a private vehicle for you and your family. This is especially important for the Longewala trip, which is a long drive where you will want your own space and comfort.

Premium Clean Cars

We take hygiene seriously. Our cars are deep-cleaned before every trip. We ensure the Air Conditioning is powerful to keep you cool, and the seats are comfortable for the desert drives.

Perfect Sunset Timing

The desert is all about the light. We plan your trip perfectly so you reach the dunes exactly when the sun is turning the sands gold, not when it is blazing hot in the afternoon.

Transparent Pricing

Our day trip quotes include fuel, toll taxes, parking fees, and driver allowance. You will never be asked for extra money for the car during the trip. The price we quote is the price you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need a permit to visit Longewala and Tanot Mata?

Indian citizens usually do not need a special permit for Tanot and Longewala, but you must carry a valid Government ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID). Foreign nationals may require prior permission from the authorities. We help guide you through the current rules.

Can we visit the Haunted Village (Kuldhara) at night?

No. Kuldhara is under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Entry is allowed only from sunrise to sunset. The gates are closed after dark for safety reasons.

How long is the drive to the Border (Longewala)?

It is approximately 120 km (2 hours) one way from Jaisalmer city. The full trip (Jaisalmer -> Tanot -> Longewala -> Jaisalmer) takes about 6 to 7 hours.

What is the difference between Sam Sand Dunes and Khuri?

Sam is the main tourist hub—it is lively, busy, and has many camps and activities. Khuri is quieter, more traditional, and less commercial. If you want a party vibe, choose Sam. If you want peace, choose Khuri.

Is it safe to drive to the border?

Yes, absolutely. The road to Tanot and Longewala is well-maintained by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). It is very safe and scenic. However, it is a remote area with limited mobile network, so travelling with a trusted local driver is recommended.

What should we wear for the desert safari?

We recommend comfortable cotton clothes. Avoid heels; wear sandals or walking shoes. Evenings in the desert can get surprisingly cool (especially in winter), so carrying a light jacket or shawl is always a good idea.
