Why We Curated This Specific Route

This is one of our most popular “Express” itineraries for travelers who want to see the best of Rajasthan in a short time. We designed this to connect the two most iconic cities – Jaipur and Jodhpur – seamlessly.

  • The Color Contrast: Experience the vibrant terracotta pink of Jaipur and the cool indigo blue of Jodhpur in one trip.

  • The Holy Stopover: Instead of a boring highway drive, we break the journey at Pushkar. You get to visit the rare Brahma Temple and the holy lake without adding extra days to your trip.

  • Forts vs. Palaces: You get to compare the artistic finesse of Amber Fort (Jaipur) with the sheer military might of Mehrangarh Fort (Jodhpur).

The Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Jaipur – Arrival & The Royal Capital

Welcome to the Pink City. Upon your arrival at Jaipur airport or railway station, our representative will meet you. Since we have a packed day, we recommend an early arrival. After a quick check-in/freshen up, we head straight to the Amber Fort. Ride a jeep up the hill to explore the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace). On the way back, we stop at Jal Mahal (Water Palace) for photos and visit the ancient Jagat Shiromani Temple.

After lunch, we dive into the walled city. See the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), explore the royal City Palace, and decode the stone instruments at Jantar Mantar. The evening is free to explore the colorful local bazaars.

In the afternoon, we visit the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum to see the vintage car collection and royal artifacts. We then head to the bustling Clock Tower Market for some shopping. We end the day at Mandore Gardens, the ancient capital, to see the royal cenotaphs set amidst lush greenery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Jodhpur from Jaipur?

It is approximately 350 km. Without stops, it takes 5.5 to 6 hours. With the stop at Pushkar, the journey will take about 7-8 hours, but it is a comfortable drive on good roads.

Is 1 day enough for Jaipur?

It is tight. To cover Amber Fort, City Palace, and Hawa Mahal in one day, we need to start by 9:00 AM sharp. If your flight arrives in the afternoon, we recommend adding an extra night in Jaipur.

Are the guides included?

We include English-speaking guides for the major forts (Amber & Mehrangarh) where history is complex. For other sites like gardens or markets, our driver will assist you, or you can explore on your own.

Can we skip Pushkar to reach Jodhpur earlier?

Yes, absolutely. If you want to reach Jodhpur by lunch, we can drive straight (NH-25). However, Pushkar is a unique cultural stop that breaks the monotony of the drive.

What should I buy in Jodhpur?

Jodhpur is famous for Jodhpuri Suits/Breeches, Mathaniya Chillies, and Handicrafts. The Clock Tower market is the best place to find authentic items.

Can we fly back from Jodhpur?

Yes, Jodhpur Airport (JDH) is well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. It is only 20 minutes from the city center.
