Why We Curated This Specific Route
If you have 3 days, you don’t have to choose between the comfort of a hotel and the thrill of a camp—you can do both. We designed this “Hybrid” itinerary to give you the best of Jaisalmer.
The “Golden” Golden Hour: We plan your schedule so you watch the sunset twice in two different settings: once over the calm waters of Gadisar Lake (Day 1) and once over the rolling Sam Sand Dunes (Day 2).
The “Living” History: Beyond the famous fort, we take you to the War Museum to honor real-life heroes and the Ghost Village of Kuldhara to explore local legends.
Balanced Comfort: You spend the first night in a comfortable city hotel to recover from your journey, and the second night under the stars in a luxury desert camp.
The Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival & The Golden Sunset
Welcome to the Golden City. Upon your arrival at Jaisalmer railway station, our representative will meet you for a smooth transfer to your hotel. After freshening up, we begin our exploration of the desert’s history. We start at the Jaisalmer War Museum, a tribute to the bravery of the Indian Army in the 1965 and 1971 wars.
Next, we visit the royal cenotaphs at Bada Bagh, massive stone domes that glow gold in the afternoon sun. As evening approaches, we visit Vyas Chhatri and finally relax at Gadisar Lake. Watching the temples and shrines reflect in the water at sunset is the most peaceful way to start your trip.
Day Highlights:
VIP Meet & Greet at Jaisalmer Station.
Visit the inspiring Jaisalmer War Museum.
Photo stop at the Royal Cenotaphs (Bada Bagh).
Highlight: Sunset views at Gadisar Lake & Vyas Chhatri.
Relaxed overnight stay in the city.
Day 02: The Living Fort & Night in the Dunes
After breakfast, we enter the Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila). Unlike other forts, 4,000 people still live here. We walk through the narrow lanes, visiting the intricate Jain Temples and the King’s Palace. We also admire the famous merchant mansions: Patwon Ki Haveli (the most complex stone carving in Rajasthan), Nathmal Ki Haveli, and Salim Singh Ki Haveli.
In the afternoon, we leave the city and drive to the Sam Sand Dunes. Check into your Desert Camp. The evening is for adventure: enjoy a Camel Safari on the dunes as the sun sets. The night comes alive with a campfire, traditional Rajasthani folk music, dance, and a delicious buffet dinner.
Day Highlights:
Explore the UNESCO “Living Fort” & Jain Temples.
Admire the stone craftsmanship of Patwon Ki Haveli.
Adventure: Sunset Camel Ride on Sam Sand Dunes.
Cultural Night with Folk Dance & Dinner at Camp.
Overnight stay in a Luxury Tent.
Day 03: The Haunted Village & Farewell
Wake up to a desert sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, we check out and explore the mysterious side of Jaisalmer. We drive to Lodhurva, the ancient capital known for its Jain temple with a “Kalpvriksha” (Tree of Life).
Next, we visit Kuldhara, the famous “Ghost Village” abandoned overnight by its residents centuries ago. Walking through its empty, ruinous streets is an eerie experience. We also stop at the peaceful Amar Sagar lake. We then transfer you to the Jaisalmer railway station for your onward journey, leaving you with stories of wars, merchants, and ghosts.
Day Highlights:
Visit the ancient Jain Temple at Lodhurva.
Mystery: Walk through the Haunted Village of Kuldhara.
Visit the Amar Sagar complex.
Assisted drop-off at Railway Station.
End of services with happy memories.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kuldhara Village really haunted?
Locals believe it is cursed. The story goes that 84 villages of Paliwal Brahmins vanished overnight to escape a tyrant minister. While we don't promise ghosts, the empty, ruined streets definitely have an eerie, mysterious atmosphere.
Can we do a Jeep Safari instead of a Camel Ride?
Yes. The package includes a Camel Ride (slow and traditional). If you want speed and thrill, you can hire a 4x4 Jeep at the dunes for "Dune Bashing." Our driver can help you book it on the spot.
Is there a dress code for the temples?
No strict dress code, but modest clothing is appreciated in the Jain Temples. You will need to remove your shoes and any leather items (belts, wallets) before entering the temple sanctum.
What is the Jaisalmer War Museum?
It is a fantastic open-air museum set up by the Indian Army. It showcases captured enemy tanks, fighter jets (like the Hunter aircraft), and stories of bravery from the Battle of Longewala (made famous by the movie Border).
How far is the Desert Camp from the city?
The Sam Sand Dunes (where the camps are) are about 40-45 km (1 hour drive) from Jaisalmer city.
What is the best way to reach Jaisalmer?
Train: Several trains run from Delhi, Jaipur, and Jodhpur. Flight: Jaisalmer Airport (JSA) has seasonal flights from Delhi/Mumbai/Jaipur. Road: It is a 5-hour drive from Jodhpur.
