Why We Curated This Specific Route

Delhi is often just a transit point for travelers, but it deserves to be a destination. We designed this 3-day itinerary to help you peel back the layers of this ancient city without getting overwhelmed.

  • The “Spiritual” Start: Instead of throwing you into traffic on Day 1, we start with Akshardham Temple. It is peaceful, grand, and sets a spiritual tone for your India trip.

  • The “Old & New” Contrast: You experience the extreme contrast of Delhi: the narrow, electric streets of Chandni Chowk (Mughal Delhi) in the morning and the wide, colonial avenues of Lutyens’ Delhi (British India) in the afternoon.

  • Complete History: We cover all three eras: The ancient (Qutub Minar), the medieval (Humayun’s Tomb/Jama Masjid), and the modern (Lotus Temple/War Memorial).

The Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival & The Stone Miracle

Welcome to the Capital. Upon your arrival at Delhi airport or railway station, our representative will meet you for a smooth transfer to your hotel. After checking in and recovering from your jet lag, we begin on a peaceful note.

In the evening, we visit the magnificent Akshardham Temple. Unlike other historical sites, this is a modern marvel of pink sandstone and white marble. We explore the intricate carvings, the boat ride (optional), and the open courtyards. It is a calming introduction to Indian culture before the buzz of the city begins tomorrow.

Day Highlights:

  • VIP Meet & Greet at Delhi Airport/Station.

  • Relaxed afternoon to settle in.

  • Featured: Evening visit to Akshardham Temple.

  • Witness the Sahaj Anand Water Show (Optional).

Day 02: Old vs. New | The Full Capital Experience

After breakfast, we dive into the heart of the city. We start in Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad). Visit the massive Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. Then, hop onto a Cycle Rickshaw for a thrilling ride through the narrow, chaotic lanes of Chandni Chowk and the spice market. We also pay respects at Raj Ghat, the peaceful memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.

In the afternoon, we enter New Delhi. Drive past the colonial grandeur of the President’s House and India Gate. We then visit two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Humayun’s Tomb (the precursor to the Taj Mahal) and the ancient Qutub Minar. We end the day at the flower-shaped Lotus Temple, a symbol of modern peace.

Day Highlights:

  • Adventure: Rickshaw Ride in Chandni Chowk.

  • Visit Jama Masjid & Raj Ghat.

  • Drive past India Gate & Parliament House.

  • Explore Qutub Minar & Humayun’s Tomb.

  • Visit the Bahá’í Lotus Temple.

Day 03: Farewell to Delhi

After a relaxed breakfast, you have some free time depending on your flight schedule. If time permits, you can visit the National Museum or shop at Khan Market or Connaught Place for souvenirs.

We then check out and transfer you to the Delhi airport or railway station for your onward journey, leaving you with memories of a city that has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times.

Day Highlights:

  • Relaxed morning breakfast.

  • Last-minute shopping (Optional).

  • Assisted drop-off at Airport/Station.

  • End of services with happy memories.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best area to stay in Delhi?

South Delhi (Saket/Def Col): Green, quiet, upscale. Central Delhi (CP): British colonial vibe, great shopping. Karol Bagh: Budget-friendly, busy, but convenient.

Is the Rickshaw Ride safe?

Yes, it is a fun and safe experience. Our guide will be with you. It can be a bit bumpy and chaotic, but that is part of the Old Delhi charm!

Can we visit the Taj Mahal from Delhi?

Yes, but not on this 3-day itinerary comfortably. The Taj Mahal is in Agra (3-4 hours away). We recommend our "Same Day Agra Tour" or "Golden Triangle Tour" if you wish to add it.

Are mobile phones allowed in Akshardham?

No. Phones, cameras, and bags are strictly prohibited inside the main temple complex. There is a free, safe cloakroom to deposit your items before entry.

How far is the airport from the city?

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is about 45-60 minutes from the city center, depending on traffic.

Is street food safe to eat?

Old Delhi is famous for Chaat and Parathas. However, for international travelers, we recommend eating only at reputable, hygienic shops that our guide recommends (like Haldiram's or Paranthe Wali Gali) to avoid "Delhi Belly."
